MindFreedom is a shining example of how mental people can come together and advocate of the betterment of all. MindFreedom is one of the few recognized and independent political voices for those of us with a psychiatric diagnosis. Through MindFreedom mental people are challenging the status quo in the mental health system and in the broader political arena.
The Virginia Organization of Consumers Asserting Leadership (VOCAL) is a statewide nonprofit organization of people in mental health recovery. If you are a mental person wanting to advocate in Virginia, VOCAL will do their best to assist you. VOCAL has been immensely helpful to BCE.
